Appointments

How to arrange to see a doctor or nurse or a health care assistant:

Please be aware that there is a change to the appointment system from 2nd July 2018 onwards. For more information click on the tab "NEW APPOINTMENT SYSTEM".

Tanyfron Surgery has the following system:

  • The doctors have an appointment only system. However if you think it is urgent or need to see someone the same day, please telephone the surgery and you will be transferred to the duty doctor list. The duty doctor will then phone you back and assess your condition(s).
  • The health care assistants have a drop in system in the morning for blood tests, so long as you are here by 11:30am.
  • Pre-booked appointments in the afternoons for doctors, nurses and health care assistants
  • The Practice Nurse can only be seen by making a morning or afternoon appointment.
  •

If you wish to contact the surgery, please telephone 01545 570271. Each routine appointment with the doctors or nurses is for 10 minutes. You can make an appointment in advance by telephoning or calling in at the surgery.

If you feel you need an appointment for longer than 10 minutes please ask to discuss this with the receptionist in private.

Please be aware that when making an appointment or requesting a telephone consultation, you will be asked for a brief description of your medical problem to ensure that you are dealt with by the most appropriate healthcare professional.

Talking to a doctor or nurse on the telephone

If you do not feel you need a face to face consultation but would like to have a telephone consultation with a doctor or nurse this can be arranged.

Please phone the surgery between 08:00am and 11.00am leaving a message with the receptionist, your name and contact number.

Remember all reception staff are bound by a duty of care to keep all matters confidential.  A doctor or nurse will call you back after surgery on the same day.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend an appointment for any reason please inform us by telephone as soon as possible in order for us to give the appointment to someone else.
