URGENT - Phone Lines (17/04/2020)
We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with regards to our phone lines. If you need to contact us regarding a medical issue, we recommend using our online consultation tool "e-consult", further information can be found here: https://tanyfronsurgery.co.uk/info.aspx?p=16. We are working extremely hard to resolve the issues and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Please respect all staff
The NHS uniform is a badge of honour for those who wear it but sadly among an outpouring of support for NHS workers at this time we are also hearing reports of abuse directed towards those in uniform and staff in GP practices and pharmacies. We understand these are exceptional times and while we are reminding our uniformed staff to cover their uniform wherever possible… abuse is NEVER acceptable and will not be tolerated. You may from time to time see an NHS worker out in the community but remember:
❤️ Be kind…that nurse may be buying food for a vulnerable person they are visiting
💚 Be kind…that community nurse is in between visiting patients in their homes
💙 Be kind…that health care support worker is picking up medication for someone who can’t get to the pharmacy themselves
💛 Be kind…that midwife is filling up their car so they can reach the next mother in labour
💙 Be kind…that domestic is running errands before going to work to keep our hospitals clean and safe

eConsult - Consult with your GP online!
From Monday 23rd March we will be introducing an online service called eConsult. eConsult has several functions. It can help you with self diagnosis using its symptom checker and self-help information. It can help you determine the most appropriate place to go with your condition - which may be your local pharmacy or the national 111 help line, and it provides a mechanism to submit a secure eConsult direct to the GP of your choice. Please visit: https://www.tanyfronsurgery.co.uk/info.aspx?p=16 for more information
Get an Isolation Note!
Use this service (https://111.nhs.uk/isolation-note) if you have to stay at home because of coronavirus and you need a note for your employer. If you have to stay at home but feel well enough to work, ask your employer if you can work from home. If you can work from home, you will not need an isolation note.
COVID-19 Update 16/03/20- Further information available here!
Coronavirus (COVID-19) has now been officially characterised as a Pandemic by the World Health Organisation.
Covid-19 cases are increasing on a daily basis and the first community transmission has been detected in Wales. Patients will understand that Tanyfron Primary Care will now need to introduce temporary measures to reduce the risk to patients and staff.
With immediate effect patients who feel they need to be seen by a healthcare professional are asked NOT to attend the surgery in person, but to telephone 01545 570271 and the call will be assessed by clinical need.
If you need to drop off your prescription, please use the post box located on the wall of the main entrance to the surgery. If you usually collect your prescription from the surgery, we would ask patients to consider providing a stamped self-addressed envelope in order to reduce the need to attend or noinate a local pharmacy in order for us to comply with your request.
We are reviewing all our routine clinics and non-essential services in order to minimise the spread of Covid-19. We recognise that patients will have concerns and therefore we would ask you to visit this website regularly in order to obtain relevant information/updates.
We would like to thank our patients for understanding and cooperation during this time.
